About NSDC

Audisankara College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) has partnered with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) In 2018 to enhance skill development of Indian students. This public-private partnership project, overseen by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), aims to create comprehensive, high-quality vocational training programs that will enliven skill development.

Key Features of NSDC Skilling Programs:

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY):
- The flagship scheme under the Skill India Mission.
- Provides industry-relevant skill training to youth, offering short-term training, recognition of prior learning, and special projects.
- Participants receive a certificate upon completion, improving their chances of securing a job.
Skills for Employability:
- Training courses tailored to different industries, such as construction, healthcare, IT, manufacturing, hospitality, and more.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
- Aims to assess and certify individuals with pre-existing skills acquired through informal or non-institutionalized means.
- It helps workers in unorganized sectors to receive formal recognition of their skills.
Sector Skill Councils (SSCs):
- NSDC works with various industry bodies to establish Sector Skill Councils, which are responsible for defining occupational standards and designing training curricula for specific industries.
Training Partners:
- NSDC collaborates with numerous private and public partners to deliver skill training through accredited training centers across India.
- These centers offer both physical and online training, ensuring outreach to urban and rural areas.
Financing and Support:
- NSDC offers financial assistance to entrepreneurs or training institutions to set up new skill development centers or scale existing ones.
International Collaborations:
- NSDC collaborates with international organizations and countries to align Indian skills with global standards, promoting overseas employment for trained candidates.
