The Department of ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING (EEE) was Started in 2001 offering B.Tech (EEE) as one of the core engineering branches with an annual intake of 60 which is gradually increased to 90 in A.Y 2002-03 and 120 in 2007-08 and is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur, Anantapuram. The Department is offering 2 PG Courses- M.Tech(EPS) & M.Tech (PE) from A.Y 2014-15 with an annual intake of 18 each. The Department has excellent infrastructural facilities, with modernized labs.

The department maintains excellent standards on par with other premier institutions in the state and is dynamic and goal oriented. The main objective of the department of EEE, is to produce engineering graduates to meet the needs of modern industry and academia equipped with advanced domain knowledge and employable skills with good character, self confidence and leadership qualities which help them for easy employment in any industry as well as academic pursuance for further higher studies in India / abroad. The department engages qualified, competent and committed faculty to impart quality education in the multi-faceted fields of electrical technology. Faculty involve in research and development activities in addition to their normal academic work. Department organizes seminars / workshops / exhibitions / FDPs / Guest lecturers etc cocuricular activities also. Faculty member's particularly young faculties are sponsored to attend symposiums / Conferences / FDPs to enrich their knowledge to keep in tune with the late test advances taking placing in the electrical engineering field. Department also gets involved in helping student placements in collaboration with the college placement and training office.

The department of EEE strives hard to give quality education to make the future EEE graduates become sharp and smart to provide excellent career development. The interaction between the students and the faculty members is a regularly feature that help the teaching learning process become very effective and efficient.

The department of EEE invites experts from various industries and discusses the technology they use and the relevant problems that they face. Industry experts are also invited to give lectures to expose students the evolving technologies that are adapted. Department organizes industrial visits very frequently to electrical power station/Software industry / manufacturing industry for the students to various organization to get a feel of what is being practiced to strengthen their theoretical knowledge.

Developing the department to be a Centre of excellence where illuminative minds with inventive thinking can come together to discuss, to debate and to work on innovative ideas that would lead to evolve cutting edge technologies useful in bringing economic prosperity and improved life styles of human society.

M1: To impart quality education by synergizing knowledge through learning and inculcating research-oriented mind set towards design and development.
M2: To Provide an environment conductive to innovation, creativity, team spirit and entrepreneurial leadership.
M3: Enable the students to become responsible citizens of the country with willingness to serve the society.

Educational Objectives & Outcomes

Program Educational Objectives(PEO's)

PEO1:Graduates will apply the essential knowledge in Basic Sciences towards practice of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

PEO2:Graduates will apply their in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering in multidiscipline as a basic for ongoing learning, excel in their professional careers for the execution of complex technological problems and solutions.

PEO3:Graduates will be able to Pursue their higher studies or start own enterprise with the gained technical knowledge and confidence.

PEO4:Graduates will become good leaders and managers by effectively communicating at both technical and interpersonal levels.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO's)

PSO1:To apply the fundamental engineering knowledge to identify, formulate, design and investigate complex engineering problems of Electrical & Electronics engineering field.

PSO2:To give the students the scope and ability to participate in competitive examinations like GATE, IES, Civil services, PSUs etc and to attain gainful employment

PSO3: To combine the emerging technologies into our core area of power systems and Power electronics so as to deal with the environmental issues effectively.

PSO4:To make all stake holders commit themselves to the highest ethical standards both individually and professionally.

Program Outcomes

PO1:Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2:Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3:Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4:Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5:Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6:The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7:Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8:Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO9:Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO10:Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO11:Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one's own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO12:Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

Association(PECON)

The Power Engineers Confederacy is a communion of such intellectuals who are desired to make the world around them a better place to live in. It was formed to served as a platform for all such enthusiasts to contribute an exploit the privilege on their part. It is worth mentioning the pain staking efforts and dedication put in by the department of EEE, ASCET, in giving PECon its present shape. Thanks to faculty involved, and the 2002-07 batch of students who have initiated and worked hard to make PECon a reality.PECon is the first of its kind to trigger activity in the college and nurture the talents of the students, efficient utilization of the work fore and methodologies that reciprocate progress, have been the key players in PECon's functioning.
